Avanti has formed an advisory board comprised of several distinguished mining executives who will act as strategic advisors to the board of directors. The mandate of this group is to assist Avanti with its strategic plans and to use their extensive contacts to assist the company with anticipated transactions: | | | Pierre Lassonde
 Mr. Lassonde is currently the Chairman of the newly created Franco-Nevada Corporation, a TSX listed resource sector royalty and investment company. He was, until 2007, a Vice Chairman of Newmont Mining Corp and had been a Director of Newmont from 2002 to 2007. He was President of Newmont Mining Corp. from 2002 until 2006. Mr. Lassonde was Co-Chief Executive Officer of Franco-Nevada Mining Corporation Limited from 1999 to 2002 and its President from 1982 until 1999. He was also President and CEO of Euro-Nevada Mining Corporation Limited from 1985 to 1999 and a Director of Normandy Mining Limited from 2001 to 2002. He is also the current Chairman of the World Gold Council, a position he has held since April 2005. Mr. Lassonde has an MBA from the University of Utah and a BSc in Electrical Engineering from Polytechnique University in Montreal. He holds honorary PhD's from the University of Utah and the University of Toronto.
