Avanti Mining Inc. (TSX-V: AVT) is an exploration and development company with itsprimary project in northern British Columbia, Canada. The Kitsault Molybdenum Project, a former producer, previously operated by Kennecott and Amax has produced in excess of 30 million pound of molybdenum intermittently between1969 and 1982. When the mine was closed in 1982 due to low prices, approximately 95% of its then calculated reserves still remained to be exploited. The Company has undertaken confirmatory and resource expansion drilling programs on the project since 2008. The Company has completed a NI43-101 compliant final feasibility and plans to redevelop the mine togetherwith strategic Asian partners who have a long term need for molybdenum. Discussions with strategic partners, off takers and various lending institutions are well underway to provide the funding needed to begin construction of the Kitsault project in late 2013. On March 18,2013 the British Columbia provincial government issued an Environmental Certificate approving the project. Permits necessary for start of construction are in process and expected later this year.
